I've been trying my hand in a variety of pistol shooting competitions over the last year or so, but being that I had basically zero experience shooting long guns I didn’t feel prepared to participate in 2 gun matches. Most of my interest lies in the defensive aspect of carrying and shooting handguns, so taking time and money away from that to work with a long gun wasn’t of interest to me. At the same time though, I was also really intimidated by the idea of participating in a match that required me to display some familiarity with that shooting platform. Long story short, once it became apparent that it was an experience I was intimidated by, it also became clear that I needed to push past that and give it a try!
