Our Introduction to Healthcare & Medical Systems Journey will take you to Sri Lanka for a unique career enrichment experience! Explore Sri Lanka's rich cultural heritage (including art, dance, music, cuisine, architecture, beliefs and religion, language, communication) as you learn about their healthcare delivery system. Meet with Professors at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Colombo and discuss the similarities and differences between the US and Sri Lankan education system. Also meet with professors at Sri Lanka’s oldest University, Perdeniya, to discuss the universal health system and its funding. In addition to the career enrichment opportunities, you will take a jeep safari to observe the largest elephant population in the world. Visit Buddhism shrines dating back to 3rd century B.C. Explore the Dambulla Cave Temples and Temple of the Tooth and participate in a local cooking class and enjoy your home cooked creation in the adjoining paddy field. Giving back is an important part of your journey, spend time with staff and students at rural school.
