On April 1, 2022, despite UN Watch's appeals, not a single democracy on the UN Human Rights Council objected to the appointment of antisemite and Hamas supporter Francesca Albanese as the UN special rapporteur tasked with investigating "Israel's violations."

Sadly, every country on the UNHRC that year joined in the appointment of Albanese, including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Luxembourg, , Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Argentina, Japan and South Korea.

*** These countries have a special obligation now to remove her, as outlined in UN Watch's petition: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/f...

From the Report of the 49th UNHRC session: "At the 58th meeting, on 1 April 2022, the President of the Human Rights Council presented the list of candidates [including Francesca Albanese] to be appointed for the eleven vacancies for special procedure mandate holders. The Human Rights Council appointed eleven special procedure mandate holders in accordance with Council resolution 5/1 (see annex IV)." (A/HRC/49/2)
