I have never used mobile marine navigation software CMAP or Open CPN.
As for the weather, Windy is a must as always.
The fish fry and campfire were amazing.
I caught horse mackerel with a fishing rod.
I caught a mullet fish with a harpoon. Double strike!
I caught more than a kilo of fish with LRF.

Kefken Island is a Black Sea island located within the borders of Kocaeli province, 10 minutes away from the Cebeci coast. The coast of the island is 1.7 km long, its area is 0.11 km², and the distance to the land is 0.8 km. It consists of mostly rocky coasts and small beaches.[1]

On the island, there are castle walls dating back to the Genoese and there are nearly forty water wells. It is estimated that these wells were built by the Genoese as cisterns to collect rainwater.

Anise, used in making raki, and a 25 cm high plant species called wild melon by the island's residents grow on the island. Laurel and fig trees are other tree species.

The island, which Ipsiz Recep Emice used as his headquarters in the Turkish War of Independence, also contributed to the War of Independence.

The fishing cooperative on the island has approximately 75 boats and fishing is highly developed. At the same time, underwater hunting is done on the island and its surroundings. With the establishment of salmon farms on the island, the demand for underwater hunting is decreasing.

The lighthouse on the island was built on November 30, 1879. The lighthouse light can be seen from a distance of approximately 13-17 miles and guides ships traveling to and from the eastern coast of the Black Sea.

Kefken Island is also one of the two habitable islands in the Black Sea Region, together with Giresun Island (Aretias). It is larger than Giresun Island in terms of area.[1]

The island, whose historical features are protected, is a first degree protected area. There is only a maritime control center as an official institution on the island, which belongs to the Ministry of Finance.[2]

Although there are many bays on the island where you can swim, there are no touristic activities or regular sea transportation.
