On Tuesday 2cnd of September, I headed down to the airport to watch my mate's flight arrive in from Orlando. His plane {G-TUIE} had been delayed by 6 hours due to a crew rest problem. So rather than head to the airport at 5am I ended up getting there for about 1030. G-TUIE was supposed to be operating the 1030 Cancun flight. However, at about 1000 Thomson brought in another 787 up from Gatwick G-TUIB to operate the service rather than have it delayed. However, by the time he was fully ready for push and start my mate Hamishes plane had just touched down.
I was able to get some great footage of both of them together. It was a very special and rare moment as it marks the first time we've ever had 2 787s on the ground at Newcastle from the same airline.
