So I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to drones and FPV. I'm alright when it comes to line of sight and being able to control it when I'm looking at it, but definitely not when I'm wearing the googles. My biggest mistake was wearing the googles and letting the drone climb to a very high altitude in an area that pretty much all looks the same.

The following is all that I had into the drone....

iFlight XL7 V4 True X 7inch 285mm Frame ---- $48.59
iFlight SucceX F7 TwinG Bluetooth Flight Controller ---- $53.99
iFlight SucceX 50Amp ESC ---- $56.99
PandaRC VTX ---- $17.99
RunCam Phoenix 2 Micro FPV Camera ---- $29.99
Readytosky FPV Antenna Extension Cable ---- $2.99
Crazepony 2206 2700KV Brushless Motor x4 ---- $32.99
Foxeer Thriverline FPV Antenna ---- $12.99
GoldBat 4S 1500mah 100C Lipo Battery ---- $15.99
BetaFPV Addressable LED ---- $5.99
Radiolink R12DSM 12 Channel Receiver ---- $24.99
BN-880 Flight Control GPS Module ---- $20.99

And then a few more bucks in the hardware and extra wiring/etc...
Totaled up, that's over $325 that just flew away and crashed onto someone else's property out here in the boonies.

The reason I lost video so quickly is because I forgot that I had the VTX power set to 25mw, and I never set up the GPS rescue because well... I'm a dumb ass.

I'm currently in the process of building a 500mm cinematic drone that's just under $1000 so you can bet that I won't be flying it as high and it'll definitely have GPS rescue set up before it leaves my office.
