Sarah Hirthe is a PhD candidate in the group of Prof Immanuel Bloch at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics. Their group's goal is to understand the interactions in quantum many-body systems and exploit them for quantum information and simulation purposes, which presents one of the most challenging endeavours in entire quantum physics today.
