Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for informal talks at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo near Moscow on July 8. "Our official discussions will start tomorrow, but today we can talk about the same topics informally in this relaxed setting," Putin said to Modi. Putin congratulated Modi on his recent re-election and commended him for his achievements for India and its people. Reports emerged that Russia will also free all Indians working in its army after PM Modi flagged the matter to the Russian president. Modi arrived in Moscow on Monday for a two-day state visit to participate in the 22nd India-Russia annual summit. Meanwhile, the US has raised concerns about India's growing ties with Russia.
