၂၀၀၈ ဖွဲ့စည်းပုံ ပြင်ဆင်ရေး လူထု ဆွေးနွေးပွဲကို အမျိုးသား ဒီမိုကရေစီ အဖွဲ့ချုပ် (NLD) နဲ့ ၈၈ မျိုးဆက် ငြိမ်းချမ်းရေး ပူးပေါင်း ဆန္ဒဖော်ထုတ်ပွဲကို မေလ (၁၇) ရက်နေ့က ရန်ကုန်မြို့ ဗိုလ်စိန်မှန် ကွင်းမှာ ကျင်းပခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ၂၀၀၈ ဖွဲ့စည်းပုံအခြေခံဥပဒေ ပြင်ဆင်ရေးကို ထောက်ခံကြောင်း ပြသသည့် အခမ်းအနားတွင် စုဝေးရောက်ရှိနေသည့် ထောင်နှင့်ချီသော ပြည်သူများကို ဒေါ်အောင်ဆန်းစုကြည် နှင့် မင်းကိုနိုင် တို့က စည်းရုံးဟောပြောခဲ့ပါတယ်။
