Let’s talk about weight bearing through the hands and arms! Why is it so hard?!
~
I hope you can take these ideas and apply it to your child’s program for at least 10 days in a row. **Always check with your pediatrician and therapist before starting any new exercise as I don’t know you’re child***
~
If your child keeps his hands in fists and your therapist has put them in splints, take the splints off for this. Remember, that we have to get proximal (close to the trunk) stability in the shoulder before we get distal (away from the trunk) function of the hand.

The arm immobilizers are in my Amazon storefront under Equipment For Your Littles. Arm immobilizer help the child to bear weight which brings strength and are not meant to be worn all the time.
~
Weight bearing in lots of different positions are important. Just practice 3-4 minutes in different positions and make sure your child is distracted and not tired before they begin.

We have incorporated @hypervibe.for.children every day of this intensive at a strength building setting. If you tell hypervibe I sent you they will offer 30 percent discount to kids with disabilities.

Let me know if you have any questions below and please let me know how it’s going in a couple weeks.
