Honky Cat from this Winston-Salem gig in 1997 is one of the most surprising performances from the era. First, Elton's vocal delivery on this version is sublime. Clean tone and gliding throughout. Aside from the "farm" falsetto (don't worry, GregsynthWizard couldn't hit it either :P ), Elton hits more falsetto on this song than the vast majority of 1985-86 performances (which makes no sense whatsoever). He NAILS the ending B4 falsetto (the "woo's") and the "bottle of wine" falsetto too.

The arrangement from this era in my opinion is better than the '85-86 tour (it has better audience interaction and a tighter band overall). This is one of the reasons why The Big Picture '97-early '98 tour is my favorite of all time.

Enjoy!
