Peak District Fail: Foggy Fiasco on the Alport Castles Trail #peakdistrict #trailrunning #nofilterneeded (but maybe fog filter would have been nice!)

Hey guys, I was SO pumped to take you on this epic trail run through the Peak District to see the legendary Alport Castles. These are these crazy rock formations caused by a massive landslide, and they're supposed to be incredible.

Well, mother nature had other plans!

Thick fog rolled in right as we hit the ridge, and visibility dropped to like 10 feet. We were basically running blindfolded! Still, the trail itself was awesome - nice mix of single track and open moorland. We even got some epic views of the valley... well, at least I think we did? Maybe it was just a white void?

I never did manage to actually see the Alport Castles, but hey, that just gives me an excuse to come back, right? ‍In the meantime, enjoy this slightly disappointing but hopefully entertaining look at what happens when you get foiled by the fog!
