Asada Mao is a former figure skater representing Japan. She has a spirit of never giving up and facing difficulties, and is popular in Japan as a skater with artistic talent. She was obsessed with jumping the triple axel, a jump of high difficulty, when she was active.

The ranking is based on the total score of Short program (SP), in which skaters skate a predetermined composition of jumps and spins, and Free program (FP), in which skaters skate a composition they can freely decide.
She was expected to win the gold medal at the Sochi Olympics in February 2014, but she failed many jumps in the SP, which is the source of her points, and ended up in 16th place.
However, in FP, she became the first female athlete in history to succeed in all triple jumps (but some jumps were not recognized by the jury, so it was not her first record).
He eventually moved up to 6th place but did not win a medal. However, he was praised and encouraged by many for his spirit of not giving up and standing up for himself even when he failed and was beaten down.
After her retirement, she organized an ice show to express her gratitude to her Japanese fans from 2018 (Thanks tour). The ice show was a cheap ticket for the whole family to enjoy and was performed in a small venue so that the skaters could be seen up close. This show was supposed to last 10 shows at first, but there were many requests from all over Japan, so the show went on for 202 shows.
