Coeliac disease is a common autoimmune inflammatory condition of the small intestine that is triggered by dietary gluten. Symptoms include fatigue, diarrhoea, bloating, and abdominal pain, as well as extra-intestinal symptoms. The only treatment is a strict life- long gluten-free diet.
