Which is the BEST engine oil viscosity / motor oil weight to use for modified cars and trucks, upgraded turbos, etc? Should you use a thicker motor oil for your modified project car? What are the benefits to using a higher viscosity oil? Can you damage your car's engine, or damage your turbo from using a thicker oil? All motor oils are not the same - there is a difference in 0w-20, 5w-30, 10w-30, 10w-40 weight oil. I'll go through these questions and more as we address what seems to be a common misconception regarding the use of a heavier engine oil for higher performance, highly modified, NA, supercharged, and turbocharged cars and trucks.
