Rolex is one of the industry’s foremost watch purveyors, producing such icons as the Submariner, GMT Master II, and Oyster Perpetual Datejust.

Most models in the brand’s catalog have been on the market for decades. They’re iconic, timeless, and boast exclusivity unmatched by many luxury brands.

Part of the notoriety of many watches in the Rolex lineup is due to their iconic bracelets.

The Rolex portfolio currently includes just a handful of bracelet options, each expertly crafted in-house and refined through the years to offer a supremely comfortable hold.

Current bracelet options include Oyster, Jubilee, President, Pearlmaster, Leather, and Oysterflex.

The Oyster and Oysterflex bracelets are typically reserved for professional series models, although it’s common to see a Datejust or Oyster Perpetual on the Oyster bracelet.

The Jubilee, President, Pearlmaster, and leather bracelets fall more into the dress watch category.

OYSTER BRACELET

The Oyster bracelet is characterized by flat, three-piece links. It features broad center links flanked by a row of slimmer links on either side. Rolex obtained the patent for the bracelet in 1947, officially releasing it to the market in 1948.

Depending on the year produced, the links will be riveted, folded, or solid and accompanied by several clasp types. The Oyster bracelet has also been available in every metal finish offered by Rolex, including two-tone, all-steel, solid gold, and even platinum.

JUBILEE BRACELET

The Jubilee bracelet is one of the most iconic on the luxury market. Rolex unveiled it during the brand’s 40th anniversary Jubilee in 1945, during which the Datejust debuted. The bracelet is named after the Jubilee celebration itself.

It is distinguished by 5-piece links with three slimmer center links and two thicker outer links. It was the first in-house bracelet produced by Rolex and is often considered the dressier option than the Oyster bracelet.

Like the Oyster bracelet, the links will vary depending on the year produced and include either folded links, oval-shaped links, D-shaped links, or solid links.

PRESIDENT BRACELET

The President bracelet is, perhaps, Rolex’s most luxurious bracelet option. It’s distinguished by semi-circular three-piece links. It debuted in 1956 on the Rolex President Day-Date and is exclusively produced in precious metal. If you see a Rolex on the President bracelet, you can be confident that it is either gold or platinum.

On this bracelet type, the center links are wider than the two outer links. As of the filming of this video, the President bracelet is exclusive to the Day-Date collection except for some editions of the Lady-Datejust and mid-size Datejust models.

PEARLMASTER BRACELET

The Pearlmaster bracelet is exclusive to the Pearlmaster collection. However, for a short time in the 2000s, a series of special edition Day-Date watches dubbed the “Masterpiece” collection were outfitted with the luxurious Pearlmaster bracelet.

It came to market in 1992 and is characterized by 5-piece links with rounded flat links. The center links are wider than the duo of outer links on either side. This bracelet type is also only ever produced in precious metal, just like the President bracelet.

LEATHER

Leather is a staple bracelet option for nearly every luxury watch brand, and Rolex is no different. Until
recently, Rolex offered many of its most iconic models on leather. Today, the Cellini is the only collection sold on leather.

OYSTERFLEX BRACELET

Oysterflex is Rolex’s answer to a growing trend for watches on rubber bracelets. It came to market in 2015, and, in true Rolex fashion, it is far from just a typical rubber bracelet.

Oysterflex features a unique structure on the underside of the watch, centering the case perfectly and allowing the wrist to breathe.
Oysterflex also features flexible nickel and titanium blades encased in a high-performance black elastomer. Rolex has produced the Oysterflex in two different widths and six different lengths.

Rolex currently produces the Yacht-Master, Daytona, and Sky-Dweller on the Oysterflex bracelet.
