Art dealers and collectors from all over the world have
been converging on Mentmore Towers, the English
country seat built last century by Baron Meyer de
Rothschild to house his fabulous collection of furniture
and art-works. The house and its contents are being
sold in a ten-day auction which is expected to net up
to 8 million. This report shows the house, a selection
of its contents, and the first day of the sale.
