Changing a trailer tire can be similar to changing a car tire. Safety is first. Positioning the trailer on a level surface, build a block cribbaging and use wheel chocks to secure the other wheels.
Gather all your tools like a lug wrench, impact wrench and spare tire.
Build a block cribbaging is more safe than a Jack.
Remove the decorative lug nuts with special tool.
Loosen and remove the lug nuts, but don’t take them all the way off yet.
Carefully slide the flat tire off the hub and set it aside.
Install the spare by lifting it onto the hub and hand tighten the lug nuts.
Use the lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern to ensure even pressure. Don’t fully tighten them yet.
Carefully lower the trailer back to the ground.
Finish tightening the lug nuts as much as you can using the impact wrench. Avoid over tightening.
Ensure all lug nuts are tight and pit the decorative lug nuts back on.
Remember if you’re not comfortable doing this type of work, it’s always a good idea to contact a professional.
