The original, and all amateur USA Basketball Dream Team winning by an average margin of 42.4 points per game. Coached by HOFer Pete Newell, the team was composed of 12 elite Collegiate, Military and AAU players, 10 of which went on to pay pro in the NBA, 8 of which became NBA all-stars, 4 of which became Basketball HOFers, 3 of whom earned 50 greatest NBA honors. 4 players additionally earned NBA rookie of the year awards in successive years. 2 players that ended up as reserves for the 1960 squad (John Havlicek and Lenny Wilkins) also went on to become 50 greatest caliber players. The 1960 team remains the deepest most talented all-amateur basketball team ever fielded for International basketball competition and was inducted as a team to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
