October 2, celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti, marks the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. On this day, Nagaland participated in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a nationwide campaign launched by the Government of India in 2014 aimed at eliminating open defecation and improving solid waste management. NLTV visited various locations in Dimapur and Chumoukedima to evaluate community cleanup efforts by municipal councils and local villages. Notably, Diphupar village mobilized around 1,500 participants for a mass social work event, showcasing strong community involvement. However, some villages still face basic sanitation challenges, highlighting a lack of progress that affects both commuters and residents
