Anthony finds himself in yet ANOTHER Waterspot Removal situation! In today's video, we remove waterspots from a CERAMIC Coated vehicle. We'll compare multiple "Coating Safe" products to find which is best for the situation.
Water spots can wreak havoc on a vehicles paintwork! Often times leaving more than just a "spot" on the surface. If left for too long, those minerals within the water can actually etch a vehicles clearcoat and leave permanent spots in the finish. Ceramic coatings are a great way to reduce the chance of an etching, but they aren't bulletproof.
The ceramic coating on this BMW was still affected by high mineral water from a sprinkler. Thus leaving a TON of spots on top of the coating. So we thought we would create a video showing how to treat water spots on a coating from LEAST aggressive methods to MOST aggressive. Our findings is that machine polishing with RUPES Uno Advanced was the most successful with the tradeoff of diminishing the coating (but replacing it with more ceramic from the product).
Wheel acid is still an affective choice, but arguably the most dangerous for a DIYer. Gtechniq W9 seems to be the sweet spot for effectiveness, safely, and ease of us. So as always, we hope this video helps you with your waterspot nightmares and you can find peace in seeing a positive result!
