Welcome back! Because summer runs are just too hot, I decided we should reward ourselves with a cooler beach run. We start our run from Costa Mesa, along the last mile of the Santa Ana River (the same river we run in Riverside) into Newport Beach. We trudge through some of the softest beach sand, then run along the piers to witness the most spectacular sunset with thousands of other beachgoers. The coolest thing is this is my first time on this trail, so I didn’t even know there was another pier until I was upon it!
As you know, I don’t like running, so I look for places to run that will keep me interested, and beach runs are at the top of the list. I hope it inspires you to go for your own run. Just start with one mile like I did!
