Next, we’ll break down our step-by-step approach of doing narrative analysis, which involves: 1) data collection 2) transcription 3) the types of narrative, and lastly, 4) the analysis phase of narrative analysis.

Capturing narrative can be tricky, so we’ll give you our strategies for extracting narrative analysis from interviews. We will help you hone in on the moments where your research participant is constructing their narrative. This is particularly important if you are using the inductive approach (   • Deductive and Inductive Approaches to...  ) to narrative analysis.

Nest, we’ll walk through the deductive method (https://delvetool.com/blog/deductivei...) of narrative analysis. To do this we provide you with 3 story structure frameworks you can use in your own narrative analysis. We’ll apply each of these frameworks to an example story told in the movie Good Will Hunting. While this isn’t a semi-structured interview, it’s told in a naturalistic way and is a good example of a topical story.
