The Flame of Liberty was lit from France's Flame of the Nation, which currently burns at the French Tomb of the Unknown Soldier under the Arc de Triomphe. On May 24, 2024, the Flame of Liberty arrived at Arlington National Cemetery and was placed at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where it through June 6 to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.
