Waiblingen ist eine Mittelstadt mit 56.081 Einwohnern (31. Dezember 2022) in Baden-Württemberg. Sie liegt etwa zehn Kilometer nordöstlich der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart. Waiblingen ist die Kreisstadt und bevölkerungsreichste Stadt des Rems-Murr-Kreises. Sie gehört zur Region Stuttgart und zur europäischen Metropolregion Stuttgart. Zusammen mit der westlichen Nachbarstadt Fellbach bildet sie ein Mittelzentrum für die umliegenden Gemeinden. Seit dem 1. Februar 1962 ist Waiblingen eine Große Kreisstadt.
Waiblingen is a medium-sized town with 56,081 inhabitants (December 31, 2022) in Baden-Württemberg. It is located about ten kilometers northeast of the state capital Stuttgart. Waiblingen is the district town and most populous city in the Rems-Murr district. It belongs to the Stuttgart region and the European metropolitan region of Stuttgart. Together with the neighboring town of Fellbach to the west, it forms a middle center for the surrounding communities. Waiblingen has been a large district town since February 1, 1962.
