Today I'm heading to the Proclamation of Independence Monument in Central Jakarta. First, though, I have to check out of my hotel and head over to my new place. As I set out on my journey, I first had to get some grilled chicken satay covered in delicious peanut sauce. After a tasty meal and chatting with some nice elder folk, I continue on my journey. As I enter some of the neighborhoods, I couldn't help but be amazed at how nice and luxurious all the houses were. It was as if I had stumbled into Jakarta's Beverly Hills. Some of these places were massive, and they all had a massive wall surrounding the premises of the house and security staff sitting outside the gates. It was a side of Indonesia I hadn't seen before. Eventually, I came to Menteng Park and enjoyed a fresh coconut and talked with the locals. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the monument, it, of course, was closed. So I called a Gojek and they came and picked me up and took me back to my hotel.

Hari ini saya menuju Monumen Proklamasi Kemerdekaan di Jakarta Pusat. Namun, pertama-tama, saya harus check out dari hotel dan menuju ke tempat baru saya. Saat memulai perjalanan, pertama-tama saya harus membuat sate ayam bakar yang dilumuri saus kacang yang lezat. Setelah makan enak dan mengobrol dengan beberapa orang tua yang baik, saya melanjutkan perjalanan saya. Ketika saya memasuki beberapa lingkungan, saya tidak bisa tidak kagum pada betapa bagus dan mewahnya semua rumah itu. Seolah-olah saya telah tersandung ke Beverly Hills Jakarta. Beberapa tempat ini sangat besar, dan mereka semua memiliki tembok besar yang mengelilingi rumah dan staf keamanan yang duduk di luar gerbang. Itu adalah sisi Indonesia yang belum pernah saya lihat sebelumnya. Akhirnya, saya datang ke Taman Menteng dan menikmati kelapa segar dan berbicara dengan penduduk setempat. Sayangnya, sesampainya di tugu, ternyata sudah tutup. Jadi saya menelepon Gojek dan mereka datang dan menjemput saya dan membawa saya kembali ke hotel saya.
