Troy raises his son, Jake, in a secluded cabin in the woods to avoid conflict in the cities. Jake grows up learning how to survive in the forest, but he knows nothing about what's happening outside. This changes when he meets a woman named Henrietta while he's attempting to retrieve medicine for Troy. Jake forms a relationship with Henrietta, but Troy is wary of her because he believes that she will uproot their peaceful life in the woods.
