I lost my dad on April 6, 2023. He was my superhero. I learned so much from him and I miss him dearly.

I rented a mini excavator and cleared the land for the tree. My son and I planted a Japanese Red Maple tree for my dad. It will grow 10 feet tall and 12 feet wide.

I rolled out weed control fabric and placed a border to separate the area from the lawn.

I rented a dump trailer so I can dump piles of crushed stone in multiple areas so it is easier to spread.

The stone bench is plenty strong for 2 people to sit on and the stone Hare represents my dad hunting back in Argentina.

This is the 2nd video to show the finished product.

Expenses:
$380 for 1 day rental of mini excavator
$250 for stone bench and Hare
$511 for Japanese Red Maple tree
$100 for dump trailer for 4 hour rental
$350 for the 8 yards of crushed stone = 1.2 tons
$120 for the 48 feet of edging
$72 for bagged soil to plant the tree in good soil

Total for materials is $1783

This does not include the rake I used to spread the rocks, diesel for the mini excavator, gas for my truck due to towing, and all the water I had to drink to not pass out from heat exhaustion.

Stay safe and healthy. Love your family and friends. And enjoy life.
