This is my current guitar rig that I'm using on the road with the Velcro Pygmies. Some aspects have changed over the years while other things have stayed the same. I like a simple setup..the fewer things that can break or malfunction, the better. I've played les paul style guitars almost exclusively and I love any tube amp that can get me a hot rodded marshall type of sound while also delivering a solid clean tone when I need it. The EVH amp is three channels so I get soo much out of it. Also I've been on the Orange 1x12 for almost 10 years. It helps keep the stage volume at a manageable level so that, Pete, our FOH engineer can make it sound amazing through the PA system. My secret weapon is a good noise gate. It really takes your sound to that "pro level" As many of legends have stated..most of the sound is in the hands..but these are the tools that allow that to happen!
