I am not basing my opinion on a secondhand Mamod as the price of this one would buy you several of them which would give you much more enjoyment and better value for money.

Overall in my opinion this model is good value for money being £295 compared to the standard current (2023) price of £243.60. You get a Limited Edition Mamod Traction Engine with some features which are brand new and might only be limited to this specific model. These features are the bright blue colour and the 60th plaque which is different to the 60th Roller as this plaque is 2 sided. The other features are the Scuttle which has added detail in the form of some pressed out holes creating a imitation bunker cage. The return of the Lever Whistle being slightly bigger then the original and having a higher pitch. A never before seen Belly Tank which is riveted from the inside of the firebox also a metal bucket fixed to the 60th plaque.

My model is set to be a shelf queen next to my Limited edition Roller and Steam Wagon from previous years I like what Mamod have done with these unique Limited Edition Models I can see why they have turned to making more and more of them in recent years to appeal to the collectors market. Back in the 1960's this was a common toy and no video games were about, times have shifted and the young generation today are not really interested in the toys of the past this has forced mamod into being a old past time. The glory days of mamod might be over where most kids would want to have a mamod but they have kept strong over the years and are onto a winner with limited edition models.

Sadly my Traction Engine came with a bent front axle a simple fix bending it back but I had the same issue with my 60th Anniversary Mamod Steam Roller. Mamods quality control is not great from my experience 2 out of 3 new models I have purchased in recent years have problems with. Since this was a easy fix I am not fussed with as at the end of the day it was originally produced as a toy to be played with but If you was to spend out and buy a brand new Mamod you would expect it to be faultless and look like what you paid for online. I could have sent mine back but this creates hassle with packing it back up and taking it down the post office. But mine was a simple fix not the best way of doing that I would have liked but the front axle does not unscrew with the plaque and bucket in place which would needed to be taken off then axle put in a vice and straightened.
