How to renovate or fix upvc windows in a conservatory (or house). This video deals with typical things that go wrong or cause problems and how to fix them, like:

00:00 Intro
00:46 1) Rubber Seal Shrinkage - Gaps
00:59 2) Water in the Frame
01:38 3) New Rubber seals from eBay
01:54 4) Black Stains from Rubber UV Ageing
02:30 5) Replace the Glass or Repair? or Make single glazed?
04:34 6) Measuring up for New DGU (double glazed unit)
08:13 7) The Order of Fitting Rubber Seals
10:17 8) Why did the DGU blow?
13:40 9) Leaks Through Screws.
14:35 10) Single Glazed conversion
18:58 11) Water Penetration Sill & Walls

I replaced 4 double glazed glass units, changed all the rubber seals and converted 8 smaller windows to single glass pains in this conservatory. Converting from double to single pain glass pains is cost free and some may say unprofessional but for me the extra thermal insulation from double glazing on these small windows had no value, since the room got too hot in the summer when I forgot to open windows.

I bought the 4 new double glazed window panes online from https://buyglass.co for just over £300 with delivery and vat. (Feb 2024). Good service from them. I have no association with them and have had no payments or discounts for stating this. There are lots of local and other online suppliers, so search around.

So here are most of the other parts I used, from Amazon or eBay at the best prices and availability as I write this. Using these links will not cost you any more than going there without using these, but it does earn me some few coins.
