The #Amarnath Temple is a cave temple that is said to house a #shivaling that is considered #swayambhu or self-manifested. The Shivaling of the Amarnath Temple is made of ice and it waxes and wanes according to the seasons, with the #AmarnathYatra being held annually at the time when the #shivaling is at its peak. Moreover, the #shivaling here was first worshipped and witnessed by Maharishi #Bhrigu after Maharishi #Kashyap emptied the waters that submerged the mountainous region of #JammuKashmir.
