In September 2020, I got a 10-year lease on a bamboo hut in Seminyak Bali, Indonesia.

I hired a contractor to help me renovate the whole thing. The project took 6 months. The before photos will reveal lots of bamboo and grey concrete.
Lucky for me, the cost of the materials was cheaper during the build because of Covid.

If anyone ever decides to move abroad, I highly recommend getting a long-term lease (more than 5 years) and making it worthwhile.

This property cost $2,500 a year x 10 years = $25,000 for the lease alone
Materials, labor, and furniture cost $24,000
TOTAL $45,000
This equates to around $400 a month.
