The Central Valley Greenway Bridge is an elegantly engineered pedestrian and cyclist crossing featuring a 66-meter main span composed of a structural steel truss. Designed to ensure safe passage over Winston Street and the adjacent Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, the bridge accommodates wheelchairs, bicycles, and other wheeled vehicles with a carefully calculated gradient. To achieve this accessibility, the bridge incorporates a long, gently sloped approach, crafted from precast concrete. This approach is constructed from a series of two identical shapes—one curved and one straight—creating a seamless and functional transition to the main span.
