The Ruston Bearcats are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Longview Lobos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ruston will be strutting in after a win while Longview will be coming in after a defeat.

Longview is hoping to do what Cabot couldn't on Friday: put an end to Ruston's winning streak (dating back to last season), which now stands at 15 games. Ruston breezed by Cabot at home to the tune of 49-10. The Bearcats pushed the score to 42-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers had no chance of recovering from. Starring for the Bearcats is LSU commit Aidan Anding, Tulane Commit Josh Brantley, Sam Nations, Jordan Hayes, and La Tech Commit Zheric Hill, and 4 star Ahmad Hudson

Meanwhile, Longview faced South Oak Cliff in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Longview and South Oak Cliff were almost perfectly matched up, but Longview suffered a 45-44 loss. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (42), the Lobos still had to take the loss.

Longview might have lost, but man, Kelvin Washington was a machine: he rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards and a touchdown. Maverick Rowe was another key player, throwing for 200 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.

Ruston's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Longview, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Ruston took a serious blow against Longview in their previous matchup back in September of 2018, falling 56-28. Can Ruston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
