While the EV9 steadily improves its sales numbers in the U.S., Kia is working on introducing new variants to widen the SUV's appeal. The flagship model, branded the Kia EV9 GT, aims to deliver both performance and driving excitement for the family, all without the luxury EV price tag.

At the 2024 Kia CEO Investor Day, President and CEO Ho Sung Song outlined the company's strategy. He confirmed that the Kia EV9 GT is scheduled for release in January 2025.

The EV9 GT is expected to feature unique inserts in the front air intake, 22-inch alloy wheels, neon brake calipers, a rear spoiler, and a restyled rear bumper.Inside, expect vegan suede-trimmed bucket seats, GT-branded metal inserts, and neon green accents.

The EV9 GT will offer enhanced driving power with two motors delivering over 580 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque, achieving 0 to 62 mph in 4 seconds. It will feature electronically-controlled suspension, an electronic Limited Slip Differential, and Z-Rated tires.

The Kia EV9 GT is expected to have a range of about 200 miles on a full charge. It should retail at approximately $80,000 and should reach U.S. dealers by mid-2025.
