Dr. Kavito Zhimo from the CMO office, District Hospital Dimapur, confirmed there has been no recent spike in dengue cases. This is a positive contrast to last year, when Nagaland recorded 2,899 dengue cases, with 2,034 coming from Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland districts, predominantly serotype 1 and 2. Data from five private hospitals show only 88 cases reported between January and September this year, marking a significant drop. However, Dr. Zhimo cautioned against complacency, urging continued vigilance to prevent a resurgence of mosquito-borne diseases. Dr. Kavito Zhimo from the CMO office has emphasized the department's readiness to address potential Mpox cases reported in India. He noted that the government is well-prepared for any eventualities. Alongside, CHISR Hospital, the CMO office has established an isolation ward as a precautionary measure to contain any potential spread of the Mpox strain.
