Kalyn Lepre meets up with John Wentworth, founder of MammothTrails.org and Mammoth Lakes Town Council Member to talk about the best ways to enjoy the Mammoth Lakes Basin.

Here's some top tips from John:
-Wildlife Viewing: If you're lucky, you can catch a glimpse of a bear, a bald eagle, deer, and trout as well and squirrels and chipmunks.
-Take the free trolley. The Village Trolley can carry up to 16 bicycles and the tegular town trolley can load 2 on the front.
-Take the family biking on the Lakes Basin path and ride all the way back into town on a paved path away from the main road. Or if you're feeling fit, you can ride up to the Lakes Basin from Town.
-Take a quick hike up to McLeod Lake or make a day of it and hike to Duck Lake. The hike to the top of Mammoth Mountain is a classic, strenuous hike with spectacular views.
-Use your smartphone to scan the QR code on the big map signs along the trail to get info about your location.

Don't forget to stop at the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center for additional information on all the trails and activities available.
