In a hospital room, two terminally ill young men, Martin Brest and Rudi Wurlitzer, bond over their shared despair and a bottle of tequila, sparking a wild idea: to escape their bleak realities with one last adventure by the sea. Fueled by alcohol and a reckless spirit, they impulsively steal a sleek 1960s Mercedes convertible, unaware that it belongs to a dangerous group of gangsters. As they speed away in pajamas, the duo inadvertently sets off a chaotic chase, discovering that their journey to freedom is fraught with unexpected peril.
