Every year the world tour rolls into South Africa, and every year something happens that stops surfing's world. In 2017 we gasped as Filipe Toledo put on a seminal performance, alongside a perfect 20 from Jordy Smith. The year before we gasped at Mick Fanning's epic comeback victory, 12 months on from his infamous run-in with the most dangerous local of them all. And this time around it was the addition of the women's field to the draw, as well as another incendiary effort from Toledo, that will keep the chatter alive long into the future.
