On February 19, 1994, Michael and his family — with the exception of La Toya, who was still married to Jack Gordon — reunited on the Jackson Family Honors TV special. The event was held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas to honor Berry Gordy — founder of the Motown record label — and actress and philanthropist Elizabeth Taylor. They both received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Jackson Family Honors was televised on the 22nd of that month and the money raised from the show was donated to Family Caring for Families.

Michael took the stage to present the awards and was applauded by around 12 thousand fans. In his speech, Michael made special mention of Elizabeth Taylor's humanitarian work, which is why
she was receiving one of the awards of the night.

Michael didn't sing alone, but the night wasn't his, it was the honorees'. So he sang along with everyone.
