Visiting JAPAN but wondering if the famous animal cafes are really worth your time and energy? I visited a dog cafe in Harajuku, Tokyo, and well, it wasn't what I expected.

Initially I went to Tokyo's iconic Harajuku district hoping to shop for cheap and quirky clothing. But as animal cafes are one of the most popular things to do in Japan, I couldn't resist. Pet cafes in Japan started as a way for people who couldn't have pets at home or were simply lonely to spend time with animals. And now, there are not only cat and dog cafes but owl cafes, penguins, snake, pig, hedgehog, and other exotic animals.

But how do dog cafes work, how much do you pay, can you cuddle, hug as you like? In this video, here's a step by step process of visiting, reserving, buying food in a dog cafe on the infamous Takeshita street in Tokyo. Hope this helps with your trip in Japan! Cheers! 🍻
