This video demonstrates three (or four) scenarios in which you might want to graft garter stitch: the two ends of one strip; the live stitches of two different pieces of fabric; or one half of a row or round to the other half. (Grafting is often known as "Kitchener Stitch.")
The grafting process is very similar in each scenario, with the main difference in how the graft is set up and finished.
