Something a little different to kick off a few days in Helsinki.

With a visit scheduled to the Iittala factory over the Christmas period, and the #6 Tram line directly at the front door of the hotel which went directly to the Iittala & Arabia Design centre it was a no brainer how to spend a few hours inside, out of the cold.

The Iittala & Arabia retail store on the ground floor is massive, everything you can imagine in regards to tableware, glassware and ornaments.

After spending some time drooling at some of what was on sale, it was time to head up to the 8th floor to the Design Centre and Museum.

Seeing the catalogue of current and historic items from both brands was more than interesting.

Next stop... 2 of Helsinki's best Market Halls...
