This was a flight on and around Southport Pier on Thursday 3rd October 2024. The pier has been closed for some time and at the moment does not look like any repair work has been scheduled to take place.
The day was sunny with occasional showers with winds of about 18 mph and the total flight distance was about 3 km which took about 4 minutes to complete and was shot at 4K 30 frames per second. I did not use any automated flight commands such as orbit or cruise control but simply used the sticks to manually control the flight path.
The promenade was relatively deserted and I always wait to take off and land when anybody approaches within 100 yards. I did stop out over the sand when a couple were passing by down by the promenade wall as they had a dog with them, he spotted the drone but the dog was busy, they could not see me sat higher up on the main promenade , once they passed I reduced the hight and landed
