This is a Korean rice porridge (ie. juk) recipe made with grounded wild sesame seeds. If you enjoy the nutty flavor of sesame seeds, I recommend trying this! My grandmother would make this for me when I felt unwell or lost my appetite. Now, I make this occasionally for my family on rainy days.

➥ INGREDIENTS | 재료
For 4 servings:
• 2 cups of Korean sweet rice (short-grain sweet rice/glutinous rice) 찹쌀
• 3 cups of water 물
• 1 tbsp sesame oil 참기름
• 2.5 tbsp roasted wild sesame seeds, grounded (perilla seeds) 들깨가루
• 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste) 소금
• ~1/4 medium carrot, diced 당근
• ~1/4 medium zucchini, diced 호박
• 2 shiitake mushrooms, diced 표고버섯
• 1 scallion, chopped 파
• 1 egg, whisked 달걀

0:14 Rinse and soak the sweet rice for 15-20 minutes
0:18 Prep the ingredients
1:40 On Medium heat, add the sesame oil and sweet rice
1:50 Stir fry the rice for ~3 minutes
1:53 Add in the vegetables and stir fry another 3 minutes
2:02 Add the water
2:10 Stir occasionally
2:26 Add the grounded wild sesame seeds, chopped scallion, and whisked egg
3:05 Add salt (adjust to taste)
3:34 Garnish the bowls with scallion and serve while hot
