A Designated Survivor is a member of the President’s Cabinet who doesn’t attend a gathering where everyone else in the line of succession to become President would be. The idea being that, if something were to happen to the Capitol during something like the State of the Union where everyone died, there would still be someone to execute the duties of President. In many ways, Moses was a Designated Survivor. He was saved from death as a child to lead God’s people out of Egypt into the promised land. However, when the day came for the Israelites to finally enter the Promised Land, Moses wasn’t going to be allowed in. How is the fair? How can one be chosen by God to do so much and the right as they’re about the reach the finish line, they aren’t allowed in? While this may seem like an individual situation, we have all experienced doing a lot of work just for someone else to get the credit.
