Sandals for life. Real custom sandals - with double stitching, once sewn by machine and once by hand, five different soles. Additional reinforcements. Each sandal is unique. That is the specialty of the sandal workshop in Freiburg.

Andreas Thilo has been making custom sandals for more than 40 years. He does almost everything by hand. It takes him up to five days to make a pair. Great care is required to ensure that the sandals last a long time. This starts with the selection and processing of the Black Forest cowhide, from which the top layer of the sandal is made, and extends to every gluing process, every roughening, every pressing of the sandal soles.

Very special is the fact that Andreas Thilo sews the soles together with three seams. One seam with the machine, the other two by hand. Also unusual are the sandal straps, which consist of only one piece of leather per sandal. The straps are pulled across the soles and artfully braided, completely without glue, completely without buckles. Only leather. Craftsmanship at its finest.
