I've been fascinated by this phenomenon of parasocial relationships ever since it arose. In this age of content creation, I think it's important we talk about the impacts these platforms have on our social network and mental health. I wanted to share my own experiences from streaming for 2 years on Twitch. I break down 2 scenarios in which parasocial relationships can form in the livestream environment. To be clear, I have a lot of love for my community and the people I've met through Twitch. I'm very grateful for all of those connections and I do not ever regret streaming in the first place.
