July 2023 sees the NHS reach its 75th birthday and whilst mental health services look very different in 2023, major shortcomings still remain.

For our fourth Festival of Ideas event, we heard from a panel of experts by experience about how mental health services could change to meet everyone’s needs more effectively, humanely and equitably.

Co-chairs:
Marsha McAdam - Centre for Mental Health ambassador
Andy Bell - CEO of Centre for Mental Health

Speakers:
Ellie Costello - Director at Square Peg
David Gilbert - The first Patient (Lived Experience) Director in the NHS and the author of The Patient Revolution - how we can heal healthcare’ (Jessica Kingsley Press).
Doreen Joseph - Advocate, lecturer, researcher and writer in race, mental health, and faith
Isaac Samuels - Lived experience and co-production expert.
